Grateful to be Together again!

I just boarded a plane back to Chicago after the most amazing weekend of my life! After not seeing Jamie for two long months it was surprisingly strange to approach her at the airport that morning of the fourth of July. As I saw her walking up to me I couldn't believe that such a beautiful girl was there to pick me up! How did I get so lucky? I know I was shaking as we hugged again for the first time. It was admittedly awkward for the first few minutes, but I quickly remembered why I loved being with her so much before. Her sweet smile, and loving kindness quieted the butterflies in my stomach and we quickly fell into the happy comfortable conversation that has always been a hallmark of our relationship.

Our weekend started off perfectly! Jamie forgot where she parked at the airport so we had our first adventure together finding her new black car that wasn't nearly as easy to find in a parking lot as her old blue van. Then we drove to Memorial Park in salt lake and found a quiet spot of grass in the shade to enjoy a picnic lunch and our first kiss in two months. :) I felt like I was in heaven lying next to her in the grass looking up at the blue sky through the green leaves. Then we had lunch with my family, and another late lunch with her family before heading off to the Stadium of Fire. It was an incredible show with performances by Kelly Clarkson, Carly Rae Jepson, and Cirque du Soleil, topped off by a spectacular firework show. What a night!

The next day, after sleeping in a bit we ran some errands and met up with David Petersen for about an hour to catch up. He's such a good friend! I am excited to room with him again in the fall. Then we filled up some tubes and spent the afternoon floating down the Provo river! What an adventure! It was a good mix of exciting rapids and relaxing stretches with a only a couple of near death experiences sprinkled in there. Then we drove back, shared some korean ramen and rushed off to an outdoor amphitheater to see a community showing of The Sound of Music. It was great until it started raining, then it was perfect! We just cuddled under a warm blanket eating chocolate, waiting to see if the play would resume. :) After a while they called off the play and we headed home to end another perfect day.
On saturday we enjoyed a very relaxing morning together before heading off to hike squaw peak together! We got very specific directions from Jamie's dad on how to get there, but somehow we were having so much fun laughing and singing that we managed to miss our turn about an hour into the hike and ended up going straight up rock canyon. It turned out to be very beautiful, and we found a little campsite at the top of a hill where we want to camp together someday. By the time we got back to the turn that lead to Squaw Peak we were pretty tired so we just went back down the canyon. We will conquer you yet Squaw Peak!!

After our hike we took the most wonderful nap in Jamie's hammock in her back yard. Then we danced and danced in her living room to the joy of her family. She taught me some folk dances, and we finished off with some polka and some waltz. :) She is a spectacular dancer! She is so light on her feet and loves really getting into the emotions of the dance. Then that night we went to the Mount Timpanogos temple to do a session since the Provo Temple was closed. It was the most wonderful part of my whole weekend! There is nothing that can quite compare to being in the celestial room with the person that you love most in the whole world! Then we danced some more in the parking lot before going home.

The next morning we were planning on going to a 9:00 spanish ward, but we ended up cuddling on the couch until around ten so we decided to go to church at an 11:00 ward instead, but by the time we were ready it was already too late so we went to the park and played scripture guessing games until we finally went to a 1:00 spanish ward. It was so wonderful relaxing in the grass in the shade with Jamie. I was in heaven. After church we drove to South Jordan for dinner with my parents and grandparents. They all absolutely love Jamie. I'm so glad that both of our families are so approving! Then she drove me to the airport. Unexpectedly on the way she accidentally ran a red light, and I guess that opened the flood gates to her emotions surrounding my departure, because she was pretty teary eyed for the rest of the trip and in the airport. It was hard to say goodbye to her again, but at the same time I think it was much easier than last time because I knew what to expect, and I was much more assured of our strong relationship. Overall it was the most wonderful weekend of my life!! I love Jamie Gee so much and can't wait to see her again in another month and a half!
